Fourteen clauses. The one people skip is the third, and it is the one that protects you: TXFVA verifies that a document exists and has not expired. We do not certify that you are compliant, and nobody should tell an inspector we did.
These terms cover anyone using the TXFVA site: members, event planners, venues, suppliers, and the public checking a credential. Paying members are also bound by the membership terms in clause 05.
A trade association for Texas mobile food vendors. TXFVA is not a government agency, not an inspector, and not a licensing body. We do not issue permits and we cannot waive a requirement any city, county, or state agency puts on you.
A verified TXFVA member has had four documents reviewed by association staff: food manager certificate, liability insurance, county health permit, and sales tax permit. We confirm the document exists, names you, and has not expired. Everything else a member enters is marked as on file rather than verified. Verification is not a finding that you are in compliance, that your unit passes inspection, or that your food is safe.
You enter your own permit numbers, dates, and documents. If a date is wrong, a document is stale, or a unit is no longer in service, that is on you to correct. We send reminders; we cannot renew anything on your behalf.
Membership runs for the term you purchase and does not auto-renew without notice. You can cancel any time; your listing comes down and your documents stay retrievable for the window described in the privacy page. Fees already paid for the current term are not refunded on a mid-term cancellation.
Five approved food-vendor referrals opens a renewal credit review. A referral is approved once that vendor’s own membership is paid and their standing established. Pending referrals count for nothing until then, and credits are applied at renewal rather than paid out.
When you send documents, you are choosing the recipient and the contents. The link expires ten days after load-in by default and you can change or kill it. Once a recipient has opened a document, we cannot unsee it for them.
TXFVA decides what appears in its directories and may edit, decline, or remove a listing — most often for an expired credential, a complaint we can substantiate, or content that misrepresents a business. You keep the rights to your own photos and copy; you grant us permission to display them while you are listed.
A supplier is listed for putting a specific member rate in writing and honoring it at the counter without a call to the association. No category is exclusive. A rate that stops being honored gets the listing pulled.
Information in the directories and in packets sent to you is for evaluating and booking that vendor. It is not a list to resell, scrape, or load into a marketing tool.
The permit type finder, checklists, logs, and guides reflect the association’s reading of the trade and are offered in good faith. Rules vary by jurisdiction and change without warning. Your local authority always outranks anything on this site.
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it is either at all times. TXFVA is not liable for a booking you lose, a fee you incur, or a permit that lapses. Any liability is limited to the membership fees you paid in the twelve months prior.
We can suspend an account for a falsified document, a credential misrepresented as verified, abuse of another member, or non-payment. Where the cause is fixable we will say what would fix it before removing anyone.
We may update these terms and will post the effective date at the top and notify members by email for material changes. Continued use after that date is acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
