ABOUT TXFVA

Formed by festival-hardened food vendors to help pave the way for the rest of us.

Texas vendors deserve a clearer path through permits, paperwork, bookings, and event-day expectations. TXFVA gives serious operators a practical standard and gives planners a faster way to verify who they are working with.

THE PROBLEM

Texas has no single vendor standard.

Every city has its own rules. Every event asks for documents a different way. Good vendors lose time proving the same things over and over: insurance, sales tax permits, health permits, fire documents, menus, setup photos, and the details that show a vendor is ready to work.

That confusion costs everyone. Vendors spend hours chasing paperwork instead of serving customers. Planners inherit risk because they have to judge compliance from scattered emails, old attachments, and last-minute promises.

TXFVA exists to make the serious operators easier to recognize, easier to book, and easier to verify before the event gate opens.

ONE STANDARD PEOPLE CAN CHECK

One verifiable credential.

We built a Member in Good Standing program with a TXFVA ID, public verification profile, and QR badge. A planner, venue, customer, or city contact can check a vendor's standing in seconds from any phone.

Behind that badge is a practical record: business identity, membership status, service region, document readiness, and the basic profile details that help people understand who they are booking.

It is not about adding red tape. It is about turning the paperwork vendors already carry into a cleaner signal of trust, professionalism, and readiness.

HOW IT HELPS

Less chasing. More working.

For vendors, TXFVA is a place to organize proof of standing, share a public credential, appear in directories, and send compliance packets without rebuilding the same email for every show.

For planners and venues, it creates a faster first pass: who is active, who has documents ready, what kind of setup they run, and where the follow-up should go.

The long-term goal is simple: make good vendors easier to find, easier to trust, and harder to replace with guesswork.

DON’T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT

This is the same lookup a planner uses at the gate. It takes about four seconds.

FROM THE TRADE

THE TIER TRAP
“We just grill a couple things” is still Type III.
Vendors talk themselves into the cheap tier because the menu is short. DSHS licenses you by what you do on the unit, and the tier gets set again at the gate — re-tiered standing at the window with the line already forming.

WHAT HB 2844 DIDN'T DO
The fire permit survived the statewide license.
One DSHS license replaced the per-city health permit, and plenty of coverage stopped there. You still pull a fire permit in every jurisdiction you operate in, plus parking and event permits where the city requires them.

WHAT INSPECTORS ARE ASKING FOR
The water and wastewater log, produced on the spot.
Type II and Type III carry the tanks, and our inspected members are being asked for the refill and disposal record that goes with them. Nobody hands you that sheet, so we made one.

WHO WROTE THIS

Nobody’s name is on this page. That’s on purpose.

The people who started this run trailers in Texas. We aren’t the credential — what you can check is. Principle 02 applies to us before it applies to anyone else: if it can’t be verified, it doesn’t belong on the badge, and neither does a founder’s name doing the work a record should do.

THE FOUNDING CLASS · NOW FORMING
The names on this page will be theirs, not ours.

Founding-class members help write the bylaws every Texas vendor will follow. As the class fills, it gets listed here — operator, unit, region — because a peer-run association should show its peers.

PRINCIPLES

PRINCIPLE 01
Built By Operators
Formed around the realities of festivals, markets, pop-ups, catering jobs, fairs, and private events: setup, rush, weather, inspection, service, and breakdown.
PRINCIPLE 02
Receipts Over Talk
If it cannot be verified, it does not belong on the badge. Trust comes from active membership, documents on file, clear status, and honest records.
PRINCIPLE 03
Stronger Together
The more organized the trade becomes, the harder it is for serious vendors to be overlooked, undercut, or treated like an afterthought.
BUILT FOR THE TRADE

Feed Texas.

TXFVA exists for the people who keep Texas events fed, organized, permitted, and moving. If that is your work, this association was built to help you prove it, protect it, and grow it.
